Cubbyhole bar, West Village NYC
Once The Cubbyhole Bar was one of the few remaining lesbian-only bars in the city. In past hetero ladies are welcome, but the boys should sit this one out. But no more — now it`s mixed, neighborhood fusion bar — lesbian and gay, straight friendly. Cubbyhole is a long-running New York lesbian and gay bar, welcoming diverse crowds from the Village. Anything goes. Everyone welcome!
Cheap beer on draft, upbeat bartenders, and a somewhat goofy décor — Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and lots of vinyl. Here, you’ll be welcomed by kitschy decor, friendly bar staff, and shockingly good value drink deals. Inside this quirky gay bar, there’s a jukebox and free popcorn to keep you happy. True to its name it’s a very tiny place, so don’t expect to be doing any dancing.
Cubbyhole is beloved by LGBTQ women across generations for its charming, slightly grungy, minimally eccentric fashion. The narrow dive is typically packed with female-identifying people playing the jukebox and ordering cheap drinks from happy hour until well after midnight.
